The mastering process was handled by the well known THE MASTERING
ROOM (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR,
OPETH, SOILWORK) and the album will
be released on the 25 of February in Japan through
Soudholic, on 22 March in Italy and
on 26 april in Europe/America through Scarlet
Records.
The Cd will also contain a special MULTIMEDIA section
featuring:

10 unreleased tracks in high quality mp3 format for
over 43 minutes of extra songs. The material is taken from 4 of the
members side projects (RUN WITH WOLVES, OUTBREAK,
VALAR, .0+1)
- The “I Am Legend” videoclip in high quality
movie format. The song is taken from the previous album “At The
Gates Of Utopia”

According to the band, “‘The Gorgon Cult’ will be the most obscure and extreme work of our career. Basically you'll find 2 different sides of Stormlord in the new album: from a side, you can expect the typical Stormlord fast and majestic songs, in their best expression ever! From another side, you'll travel to the darkest realm of the Gorgon with obscure, fast and atmospheric songs.”
Cover artwork will be handled by J.P. Fournier, the talented artist behind the cover paintings of IMPALED NAZARENE, IMMORTAL, AVANTASIA, EDGUY and more.

Dopo due mesi di intenso lavoro in studio, gli Stormlord hanno terminato le registrazioni del nuovo "The Gorgon Cult" presso i noti OUTER SOUND STUDIOS (NOVEMBRE, NECRODEATH, DGM, THY MAJESTIE), sotto la guida del produttore Giuseppe Orlando (NOVEMBRE).

L’album
è stato masterizzato presso i celebri THE MASTERING ROOM
(IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, OPETH,
SOILWORK) ed uscirà il 25 Febbraio in Giappone
e il 22 Marzo in Italia su Scarlet
Records.
L’album conterrà inoltre una ricca area multimediale
comprendente:

La copertina dell’album è stata affidata a J.P. Fournier, l’artista francese già al lavoro con IMMORTAL, IMPALED NAZARENE, AVANTASIA, EDGUY ecc...
La
band ha così commentato il nuovo album:
“’The Gorgon Cult’ è sicuramente il lavoro
più oscuro della nostra carriera. Sostanzialmente si possono
trovare due diverse anime in quest’album: da una parte, abbiamo
continuato il discorso musicale di ‘At The Gates Of Utopia’,
spingendo sull’acceleratore su pezzi molto epici e d’impatto,
pezzi in classico stile Stormlord come ‘The Curse Of Medusa’
e ‘Xanadu’ ma arricchiti da una maggiore cura dei suoni
e degli arrangiamenti. Dall’altra, abbiamo esplorato lidi sonori
per noi ancora inviolati, ci sono pezzi come ‘Wurdulak’
o ‘The Gorgon Cult’ che richiamano un feel gotico e più
oscuro, oppure altri come ‘Under The Boards’ o ‘Nightbreed’
in cui la nostro componente symphonic black riesce ad esplodere come
mai in passato. In più, abbiamo veramente sputato sangue sulla
produzione, ma siamo riusciti a raggiungere standard qualitativi assolutamente
incredibili anche se paragonati alle produzioni estere, e di questo
dobbiamo sinceramente ringraziare Giuseppe e i ragazzi degli Outer Sound,
preparatevi a qualcosa di incredibile!!”
I
nostri hanno anche commentato la scelta di riproporre la cover di “Moonchild”
degli IRON MAIDEN:
“’Moonchild’ è uno dei pezzi più
affascinanti dei Maiden. Ha un’atmosfera surreale, molto inquieta
e sinistra, una struttura di brano assolutamente atipica e un’energia
speciale, quando abbiamo pensato a una cover degli Irons non abbiamo
avuto alcun dubbio sulla scelta. Il brano tra l’altro si sposa
perfettamente con l’atmosfera del disco, abbiamo deciso di mantenere
la nostra versione da una parte fedele all’originale, dall’altra
l’abbiamo riadattata al nostro sound e arrangiato le parti di
voce in chiave estrema, e siamo veramente orgogliosi del risultato finale!
Il nostro è il tributo ad una delle più grandi band di
tutti i tempi!”
